My Team
Why a Full Sound Team benefits a whole Production?
They say “Two Heads are better than One”, well how about three? A full sound team does sound expensive at first but it can huge pay offs in the long run. When I have a Full Sound Team; Sound Mixer, Boom Operator and Utility my workflow becomes faster as well addressing emergencies promptly. No need to divert other crew to help when you’re fully staffed. It also has the added benefit of being professional and complimenting the full camera team that’s already been hired.
- Faster Set Up/Load Out
- Faster Problem Solving
- It can save 1 to 1.5 hours of shoot time
Get it right in the Mic
What does a Boom Op do?
Boom Operators are a crucial part of any Sound Team. Their main job is to make decisions where to place microphones on set and to make last-minute adjustments onset in regards to sound. Unlike a “One Man Band,” they can purely focus on Boom Mic placement and not have to be incumbered by a massive Sound-bag rig.
- Increased agility
- Comfortable & professional environment for Talent
- Saves time & money on Set
It’s all down to the wire
Does a third make a difference? Yes! Now hire a Utility
The Utility is often disregarded by Productions as a luxury but in reality, it’s an asset to any project. If there is a full camera team it should be reasonable to have a full Sound Team and it’s often for the same reasons. Utilities save time and can work ahead of schedule.
- Wire multiple talent quicker
- Set up plant mics
- Lay-down cable
- Fix equipment on site
- Organizing future set-ups
